I am an applied microeconomist. My work uses administrative data and natural experiments to study how health policy, social networks, and family structure shape health and economic outcomes. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University.
Research interests
Health economics
Pharmaceutical policy and drug subsidies, medication shortages, physician decision-making, and the spread of infectious disease.
Networks
How commuting and social networks transmit disease and shape behaviour, and how to identify peer effects when network data are noisy.
Family economics
Marriage and dating markets, sex ratios, fertility, and the health of mothers and newborns.
